Default Steering is loose on 96 LT1

I really dont know a whole lot about steering but i would like to know what you guys think the problem is. My car like to follow grooves in the road pretty badly and i beleive its because the steering is loose the steering wheel can go about 1/2 in right and left without turning the wheels. I was wondering is there is something i can adjust at my house or will i need a lift to replace some parts. Also, the car is lowered 1.5 inches which might also be why its so loose?? thanks for any replys, if you need any more info letme know.

I guarantee it's the rag joint. Google "Unbalanced Engineering Rag Joint Eliminator" and that will tighten it up real nice.
