Autozone Pads lol
Heya was just wandering if there's anything wrong with just going the care-free route and hittin up the good ol AZ for my pads.
With that I had a question... AZ lists the Duralast front pads for $22... Gold Duralas for $37... and PFC-Carbon-Metallic for $70. Thats a nice jump in coin. I cant find jack on their site as to what the differences are between each so i was wandering if anyone here knew
Thanks!
edit:
BTW this is just a DD car for now... not a racer of practically any kind

Everyone's experience is going to be different, but mine have been bad with autozone parts. See my thread on axle bearings:

I refuse to buy any more Autozone parts, but I have had really good luck with Pepboys Pro Stop brake pads. They come in different quality and price levels, and the top of the line ones are cheap and VERY similar to ACdelco pads. I've used them on my third and fourth gen.
PS: The difference is metallic, semi-metallic, and ceramic. The cheaper you go, the more brake dust you'll have to clean off your wheels...

I have the duralast pads on right now and they are aweful compared to the hawks. I just got them as a get me by if your looking at the $70 AZ specials then just spend the extra $20 and get the hawks. You will never regret it.

I have the $70 autozone pads on the front of my car. The only thing I don't like is they squeal a little but. I am sure I can put some anti-squeal on them but haven had a chance to do it. Other than that they work pretty well.

i have the $70 prc pads that i paid $30 for and i think there a darn good pad, the material is patented and only made by them, just go on there website and see how popular they are, there is no squeal with mine or anything, i just overheated my rotors to the point of blue
