Default Oem slp firehawk wheels

I Have a set of POLISHED OEM FIREHAWK wheels. They were originally painted wheels. I have recently moved to a small apartment and no longer have the free storage space. I chose to strip the faces which I will never do again. I wanted the high shine look with out the chrome flaking as they normally do. I kept the centers in their original paint form for easy cleaning. If any one is familiar with how difficult this process is by hand knows what I'm talking about.

They come with brand new never used center caps.
I do not want to ship. I'm located in Austin, TX
$800

What was hard about the job. Is it not smooth under the paint?

To remove the paint is one step but then you have to sand it down
Although it maybe somewhat smooth you have to get through the primer and down to the metal. I can't even count the number of hours I have into them.
I would never do it again.

It is kind of hard to tell by the pictures if they look good or bad. Do you have a picture in good outside light?

I wish both of you were closer. I have a silver painted set. I bet we could work something out.

Nice work 1BadChicken. On my hawk I currently have the SLP wheels that were originally a over the counter painted set that was stripped and then professionally chromed. They look awesome, better than yours, but I've notice that in a few spots where the chrome is flaking again. You can't win. So your approach may be the best for durable shine. I also have done some hand polishing of some aluminum Firebird wheels (over 25 years ago). So I know exactly what you mean when you say I don't know how many hours I have into them and I'll never do it again. Likewise. So again knowing all of this after seeing the fruit of your labor all I can say is NICE WORK and congrats on completing something so difficult and so bad ***. It's a shame you aren't able to wear them with pride on your ride. These are worth every penny you are asking. I've got over 1500 in mine and I got them from the guy who did this at his loss, kinda like you are having to do.

Good luck with the sale and bump.

Vernon

Thanks. Yeah it leaves hand cramps with the stripping and working. Especially getting past the primer/filler. I never realized how many imperfections wheels have. A lot of it is hidden under the filler. I can say chrome is truly the best option if it wasn't for the SLP flaking. But oh well these shine pretty dang good. There was a couple of times I wanted to give up and just take my beating. Glad I stuck to it.
