how ls1 engines work

how ls1 engines work i am writing an essay and it doesnt neccecarily have to be an ls1 but at least an internal combusion. If any of you know of a good site that has information on how the engine work that would really help me. I do understand basics but just wanted to get a littlle detail.
Kind of depends how much detail you want to get into.
What about 2 strokes? might be easier to explain (in detail). If you are interested you could probably find a cheap RC car (nitro) engine for cheap and just start taking it apart.
I would interview BigBronco for a source, Im sure he could tell you more than you need to know
How long is the paper? how detailed are you trying to get (fuel delivery, oil system...)?

There was actually another thread with a great explanation on how it works.
Basically, it runs great when its dirty and low on gas. As soon as you clean it or fill it past half a tank, be prepared for something to break, because thats normally about the time.
