I dont know.. I believe the bottle could do that damage, if it were put in wrong, like said above about the safety disc...
Kind of weird cuz that car looks like it had more to it then just a bottle blowing..
Like maybe sitting in 100* temp outside all day... LOL

IDK

A nitrous bottle can absolutly do that much damage.... any container under 1500-2k psi will do alot of damage.

That is why I had a blow down tube on my kit, and will never run a kit without one.

this seems to happen about once every 2-3 years. I remember some guy that posted here had a bottle blow up in his car and the car was in the garage. Needless to say that he needed a new car and a new garage.

maybe someone could find those pictures.

damn that garage pic, he must have left the bottle heater on? A big steel bottle under alot a pressure will do that kind of damage in a heart beat, explodes like a grenade.

yep....same principle

It's possible that the concussion opened the gas tank door.....but looking at the pics the gas cap is also unscrewed.....so they probly poked around a litte bit before taking the pics.

Tell you what....that will ruin an afternoon

you have a bottle in a car with the windows up it is like a sealed container, then you add 1000-1500 psi into it real quick. yes you get damage like this

I figgure the window design on a F body like a 3rd or 4th gen would allow pressure to escape since you can so easily pull the window out and stick your arm in to unlock one.

Bed is probably cooler than in the car sometimes.

I'll post up the link to the forum that was nabbed from when I get a chance.

Notice the bottle is still in there... top is still in the back, bottom is in the seat.
