Hey I can play that game....OU has won the last 6 out of 9 against UT and has 5 big 12 titles and 1 BCS national championship (and 6 other non BCS national titles). BTW, OU has attended many more BCS games than UT and yeah, we've choked away a few. But that will all change once the problems with the defense get straightened out. You guys are sippin the muschamp koolaid if you think that little team from Norman won't continue to be a problem for UT for years to come. It has been that way for many decades and I doubt anything will change.

And they're not even in the top 50 (OU is ranked slightly higher btw):

For as much as OU has dominated the Big 12, they have been just as big of a laughing stock of the Big 12.
Blowing bowl games, getting blown out in Big 12 championship game and still going to the national championship game, jumping Auburn then getting their **** pushed by USC.
Awesome.

Awesome.
Also:
1. They never jumped Auburn
2. Texas lost two Big12 CGs to OUs one
3. OU won the south 5 of the last 6 years and 6 of the last 8
4. Ou has lost some BCS game...no doubt...that's what happens when you qualify for the big games, you face tough opponents. Anyone can win a Holiday Bowl.
And again...if OU sucks so bad...how can you have any pride in being a longhorn fan when you see how meager their success in this era is to OU?

2. Let's wait until Muschamp gets a top 50 defense and win a conference title at UT before we declare him as the "best DC in the nation".
Venables with his five conference titles, among other accomplishments would likely beg to differ with that claim...along with many other DCs.

Recruiting is a weird deal. You can't just go out and try to sign as my '5 Star' players as you can. There are tons of 5 star prospects that don't amount to anything at the college level. And then there are kids who barely get scholarships that turn into starters and end up being players that leave early for the NFL.
Texas has never been short on talent and that won't change because they only have 1 '5 Star' recruit.

P.S. The rest of the Big XII is in trouble now that Muschamp will be around for years to come.

Yada, yada, ya. OU this and UT that. Come on guys this is ridiculous. Both UT and OU are very successful programs and perrinially in the top ten. Lets not turn this into a juvenille pissing contest. There are both good and bad points on both sides that can always be thrown out there, but whatever side of the fence you're on nothing anyone posts is going to make someone change their viewpoint, so all of this pissing and moaning is ridiculous.
Todd, who said that the hiring of Coach Boom would make OU irrelevant? Texas did what they thought was best for their long-term success and I'm sure OU will be doing what they need to do as well. It will again be settled on the field next year between the two.

Back in the 80's Gary Gibbs was DC at OU and he was an EXCELLENT DC. Year in and year out through the 80's OU consitently had the #1 defense in the country and the stats to prove it. When Barry Switzer stepped down Gibbs took over. We all know how that turned out .

i'm glad OU trash has to come ruin a thread.
and UT never claimed Muschamp being the best DC in the land, he was that highly touted by ESPN and many others.
hell if he wasn't that good, he would have never been mentioned for almost every head coach position that was opening up for next year.

how about you look where our D was last year to where it is now... then look at the amount of youth / inexperience on the field.
that shows you how good of a DC he really is.

This is good stuff for UT.
On the other side of the coin.. When Stoops doesn't win his little bowl game this year (again) NO U will probably escort him out knowing that UT is a force to be recon'd with!!
NOklahoma''s candle is beginning to flicker...
Go TT/NO SU.....
Sorry, i couldn't help myself...

Besides, it wouldn't be a very great thread without some fair&balanced debate.
Horn fan 1: Wow, this is awesome
Horn fan 2: Man, I'm happy
Horn fan 3: Muschamp is the best DC ever
Horn fan 4: Word to that. HOOK EM HORNS!!!

No OU fans have resorted to using pejoratives. It's a lively discussion about college football...no need to get that upset about it. I'd recommend taking a walk in the brisk autumn air and relaxing.

He still is touted as one of the best DC's in the land... already making a drastic turn around on our d
