Where's all the 6spd T/As at dangit!?

Been looking for a nice, clean 6spd ls1 T/A 99-02 car for about a month or so now, I cand find some SS's that are in my price range but the T/A's are freaking rediculous at times...15k for a car with 120k+ miles on it?? c'mon now..... Not being picky either, other than not looking for a red one..just a Stock, 6spd T/A, at the most a bolt on car....WTF are they at?? always seem to find them when I'm not looking...

aDaM Ws6 Feb 19, 2009 07:20 PM

thats because TAs are better then camaros :)

Morbid Feb 19, 2009 07:39 PM

You can buy mine, convert it to an M6 and still be under 15k :D

isenegger Feb 19, 2009 07:55 PM

ill sell my ta for a good price

BAD2000TA Feb 19, 2009 08:51 PM

I'd sell mine for $17K

While I do agree with you that some people still think these things are worth their weight in gold, I'd say you need to be willing to travel a bit to find a good deal.

Not sure if you've done that already, but it's definetely something you might want to consider.

Tiago Feb 19, 2009 09:35 PM

I'll sell you mine for $50k:D

They are getting harder to find in any kind of decent shape. I think we all know the build quality on some of the inside parts isn't great. Have you thought about a formula? Lighter than the Ta, and alot of f-body guy's agree much cleaner body lines. My 98 M6 NBM formula may be for sale soon, 59k very clean inside and out. Leather all opts bolt'ons polished 98-00 ws6 wheels.

I'll sell you mine and you can put a stock cam in it and then it would be just like a bolt on car. Check out the ad in my sig. I'm not that far from Beaumont. Make me an offer I cant refuse.

well, I have to finance the majority of it, and getting what I need for a 99 with 140k on the clock would be impossible...even though it has a rebuilt motor, banks just don't look at it that way..Trade you a honda for it...lol..It's a nice car non the less

bmxer8699 Feb 20, 2009 12:09 AM

lmao i sold my 128k mile T/A for 10.8k a month ago.

Nine Ball Feb 20, 2009 06:58 AM

Have you checked with your bank on financing any car older than 5 years? Most banks won't touch them at all, but some credit unions do.

02ws666 Feb 20, 2009 07:14 AM

i bought my 02 with 31k on it for 18.5...dropped 11k down and borrowed 7.5 from wells fargo last april... they had no problems...

Nine Ball Feb 20, 2009 07:20 AM

That is good to know. Bet that 11K down swayed them though, as long as your down payment puts their loan value at much less than book value on a vehicle, they tend to like those odds.

streetassasin Feb 20, 2009 07:33 AM

In Oct 07 I put 1500 down on my 01 SS, didnt have a problem getting a loan with a cosigner, it was a credit union though
