yeah, all those guys are usually a bit twisted...everyone disses them when they come around, but they can be effective. I trained with these guys in Ft Campbell for a short period of time and they can be impressive.

over 5000 feet is a hell of a shot....had not heard of that. There are many sniper teams over in that area. They are the ones that are doing the most damage right now.

Is that the guy shooting at someone in a building. First shot missed, but the second got him? I heard he was aiming about 6-8 feet above his target.

Simply sick...how many people can speak to each other at normal tone and kill someone/thing without it ever knowing at almost 1000 yards...

there are some simple brething techinques and shouldering techniques that can make drastic improvements to your shooting. I competed in the 600 yard class back in the day and could make a 3" pattern consistently. I was using a 30.06 and also used a 50 cal.

I shot an M-16 a few times..

Canadian soldier Corporal Rob Furlong, formerly of the PPCLI (Operation Anaconda, Afghanistan) - holds the record for the longest-ever recorded and confirmed sniper kill at 2,430 meters (1.509 miles) using a .50 caliber (12.7 mm) McMillan TAC-50 rifle.

Simo Häyhä (December 17, 1905 – April 1, 2002), nicknamed "White Death" (Russian: Белая Смерть, Belaya Smert; Finnish: Valkoinen kuolema; Swedish: den Vita Döden) or "Teaser" by the Soviet army, was a Finnish soldier, and has the highest recorded number of kills as a sniper in any major war.[40] Häyhä killed over 540 Soviet soldiers.

And yeah Ive seen ppl shoot like that, hell we qualify with open sights with a M16 at 500 yards. And thats just for a basic Marine, the sniper program we have is the best in the wolrd hands down. Thats why we **** everybody up we fight and we dont have near as many casualties as the other branches, we do our business from a distance and kill on the first shot

mmm, 338 lapua, kind of hard to miss with that gun. It's more accurate than 950 feet.
