I'd just try anyhow, what's the worst that will happen...they don't hire you? So what, at least you tried. If you really want to do it, get some experience somewhere else or get a job doing something else in the dealership and try to move over there. Might be able to get in writing up oil changes or being a porter or something. Go talk to a shop foreman, he might be able to point you in the right direction.

Weak (sorry) advisors @$45k-55k and of course strong ones make more than that. Be prepared to live at the dealership. Usually from 7am-7pm weekdays and Saturdays. To be a strong one you have to learn the product not be lazy or scared to tell customer the truth.
Very stressful job, long hours.
