I just asked my buddy that worked at Ewing here in Plano for a little while, he was sales so he doesn't really know a lot about the service side. He said they make about 45k but it depends, they hire with experience or from within the dealership...so autosales or mechanic knowledge. I think that once you are there for a while and you have a good base of customers that come directly to you for service and refer their friends, you should make more money.
I'd just try anyhow, what's the worst that will happen...they don't hire you? So what, at least you tried. If you really want to do it, get some experience somewhere else or get a job doing something else in the dealership and try to move over there. Might be able to get in writing up oil changes or being a porter or something. Go talk to a shop foreman, he might be able to point you in the right direction.

entry level, depends on the brand of cars that you are writing for, usually imports and high end cars would be easier to make more money, first year you can make anywhere from 40-55k, it takes time build a cliental and of course a good reputation with your customers so they can thrust you.

Weak (sorry) advisors @$45k-55k and of course strong ones make more than that. Be prepared to live at the dealership. Usually from 7am-7pm weekdays and Saturdays. To be a strong one you have to learn the product not be lazy or scared to tell customer the truth.
Very stressful job, long hours.
