i bought a complete set of arp wheels studs for a steal and i was just wondering is it really worth changing .... i have prostars on my car and i been workin on my car and im just looking at them wondering if i should put them on

y2kfrc 12-28-2009 04:51 PM

you have them and it wouldnt hurt, why not?

redz_02 12-28-2009 05:25 PM

Yes I would.

slayer_taunu 12-28-2009 06:09 PM

you running DR's on a 10-bolt, right? i think you'll break the rear before the studs.

txh0tb0i972 12-28-2009 06:11 PM

i got them and just put them n my car.... i havent even attempted to put them on.... i paid 20 bucks for all 20 so i thought it was pretty good.... but i also got a deal when i bought my prostars thats y they were so cheap but what do i benefit for them?

chrysler kid 12-28-2009 07:47 PM

i believe you need them with openended lug nuts for bracket racing. they are also suppose to be stronger than the stock studs so you wont break them, however i have 13k miles daily driving on my stock studs with the long lug nuts

txh0tb0i972 12-28-2009 08:17 PM

yes im running a 325 50 15 nitto

slayer_taunu 12-29-2009 08:08 AM

a few of my threads got messed up, i'll give you the $20 for them if you decide you dont need em

jlrz28 12-29-2009 08:40 AM

I had them put on my car, I think it was a good mod. I had broke one of the stock ones while torquing the wheels back on.

5:2 WHEELS
Hubcaps must be removed for inspectors, who will check for loose
lugs, cracked wheels, worn or oversize lug holes, and condition of
spindles, axle nuts, cotter pins, etc. Snap-on hubcaps are prohibited
on any class car. The use of “spinner” style wheels or any wheel
design that incorporates movable pieces while vehicle is in motion
or stationary are prohibited. Each car in competition must be
equipped with automotive-type wheels with a minimum 12 inches of
diameter unless Class Requirements stipulate otherwise.
Motorcycle wheels or lightweight automotive wire wheels must be
equipped with .100-inch minimum diameter steel spokes, properly
cross-laced to provide maximum strength. All spoke holes in rim
and hub must be laced. Omissions to lighten wheels prohibited. The
thread engagement on all wheel studs to the lug nut, or lug bolts to
wheel hubs, must be equivalent to or greater than the diameter of
the stud/bolt. Length of the stud/bolt does not determine
permissibility. (Example: A 7/16-inch stud must be thoroughly
engaged through the threads in the hex portion of the lug a
minimum of 7/16-inch.)
Wheel spacer permitted. Spacer to be either hub-centric or lug-centric
and must fit with minimal clearance to retain concentricity. The wheel
spacer must not
reduce the
minimum permitted
thread engagement
below the limits
established by
fastener diameter.
(See example as
stated above.) No
stacking of wheel
spacers allowed.
Maximum rim width
on any car: 16
inches. No rear
wheel discs or

Ask Dirty about wheel studs.

BadCompany VP WS6 12-29-2009 09:19 AM

Just do it and be done with it.

Seen too many stock studs break before a 10 bolt does. Especially on a m6 car.

Where's JP to insert the Mellow Yellow "FAIL" pic. haha

I sent those studs with those wheels for a reason bro! LOL Put them on and feel safer that you are doing it the right way and not half-assing it.
