Raced my first 2010 SS Camaro
Buddy of mine bought a 2010 SS camaro and we had to line them up to see how she runs Bone Stock!. It still has the paper tags on it!!!I have a 02 LE SS with bolt ons, SLP Lid, Bellows,MSD , Hooker 1 3/4 ceramic coated headers with the 3 inch TSP catted y-pipe with 3 inch I-pipe to Hooker aerochamber with 2.5 inch dual outlets to the CME. My car is dynotuned with a Harris Speed Works wet plate system spraying 100 HP right now. My car made 341.6 HP at the tires on the dyno. Bone stock it did 316.9 HP. We never sprayed it on the Dyno.
He had a passenger also and I was alone. We go from a dead stop and I don't have my drag radials on ,,He has traction control and I get out about half a car then start spinning,,,he doesnt spin at all and puts about 2.5 cars on me while I'm tryin to hook it up. That takes a while and I get her cooking and Im staying there maybe barely pullin back to him but hes out there 2.5 to 3 cars. Im not going to catch him on motor so I have to spray it and go blowing by him on the gas. I was impressed with his car,,,It ran alot better than I thought she would being that heavy and with 2 people in it. It would have been different if I had my tires on it but the 2010 SS Camaros run pretty good like she sits. He said hes gonna put exhaust and turbo it soon...so I may be in trouble. Convertor and cam in my future......YES

2010 Camaro SS is a 12.9-13.1 average car stock. I don't know why people assume they are so slow, that is quicker than 4th gens were when stock. Yes, a handful of 4th gens went 12s stock, I owned two of them, but the norm for LS1 f-bodies was in the 13.2-13.4 range.

love it when the 4th gen guys underestimate these cars. everytime i catch one of them wanting to race me it ends horribly for them. usually roll them anywheres from 3-6 car lengths.

5th gens have some giddyup they are ls3 powered. but they also outweight the 4th gens by 500 lbs or so. a bolt on 4th gen will rape a bonestock 5th gen granted the 4th gen can get traction. 5th gens=426 horse 4th gens=305-345. i would hope stock for stock a 5th gen would win. i think fourth gens look better though. maybe its just me. good run put on your radials next time lol

I know from a stop, I'd put some distance between us.
I've seen them run mostly 14s down here.
This past wednesday, I was at the track and saw a 2010 Camaro hit 12.7. So I went over to check out the car, the guy said it was full bolt-ons. He had a nice intake... Fast LSXR 102mm.

I didn't go in my Trans Am, went with a friend on his 2010 Camaro SS (same one I raced)
He was frustrated that he couldn't get better times than 14.3.
He was getting 14.3 - 14.7 range the whole night.

I'm 3-0 against 2010 Camaros in my bone stock G8 GXP at Houston Raceway Park.
The very first night I took my car to the track with paper plates, there was another Camaro SS M6 running and he also had paper plates. That night I was turning 13.2-13.3 bone stock, that Camaro was turning 13.4-13.6 in his bone stock car. That same night, he later added a CAI and a tune and was right at the 13.02 door, but never broke into the 12's while I was there. There were also a couple of SRT8 Challengers running stock times of 13.7-13.9.

Cars power don't make a difference without the driver mod. I can count numerous times a car with way more potential than mine that should've have walked me ended up being the walkee. 5th gens are nice and quick for what they are. It seems they are progressively quicker than I can remember 4th gens being.

These cars havnt been out that long and y'all are grunting victory with more time for modding your 4th gens?! To give u an idea those cars already went 9s and they havnt been off the showroom floors for over a year! In one more year they will be waaay quicker and not shrugged off like y'all do now.
