Default Texas Motor Speedway Laps for Charity May 8th, 2010

I am set this up for my 5th generation camaro group (DFW-Camaro Owners) on camaro 5 but i am extending an invitation to my fellow 4th gen F-Body owners (all year f-bodys may come), we will be meeting up in the HEB area to eat dinner then cruise out to TMS for our track time, I I hope some of you could make it

-UnknownWarrior

Track Time set up: i have set up our track time and they gave us 6:45 and they would like us to all be there by 6:15 i figure we could all go to dinner then head out to the track and do our laps. They will be calling me at the end of April to get the final number of people who are goin i told them to put us down for 30 cars for now

You're the driver when Texas Motor Speedway opens the Speedway to the public for the first time this year. Experience the thrill of driving your car around the 1.5-mile super speedway all to benefit the Texas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

Take three laps on the 1.5 mile Super Speedway behind a pace vehicle for just a $30 donation and have your picture taken in Victory Lane for an additional $10. Once again our fan favorite VIP Laps Experience will be offered for $250. Laps will be conducted for Car Clubs (by reservation) from 5-7 p.m. and for the General Public from 7-10 p.m. No reservation is needed for the General public time.

I'll be there in my C5. But, I don't get off work till around 7:30.

This is a ton of fun, I've done it in my '99 Camaro, '04 2500HD, and now going to do it in the Vette.

I know the pace car driver personally. And he tells me every year, that if someone rides his *** on the track he will keep it floored the entire time. 108mph in the Impala, and 118 in the Monte Carlo. But, whe the "spreading out" that happens you can get up there pretty fast.

I.E. Last year we put a V6 Camaro in the front, and had him on the pace cars tail. I reached a good bit over 100...

The waver stated 60 as the max mph last year IIRC. After last year, I'm not sure I care to send the $. We tried spreading out. I got up to 100 once and after that the damn pace trucks would dive down in front of you to block you from getting a run. They apparently did this to several groups because the guy in the Porche behind me was pissed because he came in from FL for this, his uncle from Denver, and all they could do in their previous group was 60.

Yep. Thats what he tells me every time.

And they raised it one year to $35 for 3 laps, but then changed it back.
