Default 20yo girl now chief of police in Guadalupe

I wish her the best of luck, but the odds definitely aren't in her favor. They must be VERY desperate down there.

I give it a month. You couldn't pay me enough to be a cop in Mexico.

Apparently the force she's creating is made up of 13 other unarmed women. She said they don't need weapons, just reason and such...

Unfortunately, you're probably right. You think the cartel's are going to lay off her because she's a 20 year old girl? That doesn't matter to them. All that means is that she will get it the worst. Raped THEN killed. It's terrible to say, but true.

I saw the article. Atleast give the woman props for stepping up to a job no one else applied for or wanted. Like people commented just pray for her and best of luck.

"The weapons we have are principles and values, which are the best weapons for prevention," Valles told CNN en Espaņol. "Our work will be pure prevention. We are not going to be doing anything else other than prevention."
This is an indirect way to say, "We won't go after drug cartels. We will just try to stay out of their way, just like all the other scared shitless governing bodies in this part of Mexico."

she will be the ultimate martyr... you would think people would be more likely to pay attention to a young woman decapitated by the cartel, maybe thats what the locals need to see..I'm sure she knows her fate...

Perhaps there are great death benefits for the surviving family and she is making a sacrifice for them.

Otherwise she might as well walk around with dynamite strapped around her and a deadman's switch. At least she can take out as many Cartel attackers as possible.
