just wondering if anyone has converted to e85 here in houston? is it easy to get fuel?.....how do you like it over all? did a quick google search for locations and it does seem like we have a few places down here with e85...any info would be nice.

its easy to do the swap you just need new fuel lines, injectors, fuel filter and possibly a pump depending on you power level. a buddy switched his supra over to E85 and on the same psi he went from 481whp to 521whp during tuning, this was on 1/2 of his max boost, he found out he needed bigger injectors to hit full boost. he has his car setup to run either 93 or E85 through a stand alone so in case there isn't a E85 station near by he can still fill up on 93. filling up would be the biggest concern if there isn't a station readily available for you. tuning is a little easier from what i've been told because it doesn't detonate as early as 93 since it's rated higher than 100. however E85 is more corrosive than 93.

I've run it before. Smells good with no cats. It is cheaper but you need roughly 30% more so you won't save much money. I stopped running it because I got tired of worrying about running out of fuel. Like stated before it's not worth time or effort unless your fi.

i also see people convert to e85 with 12.5 or higher compression and nitrous guys....for me it seem like a good idea...i will be running and lt1 with 12.5 or higher compression on nitrous.....daily driver for work only...30min total a day....(even that might change)....and i have to upgrade injectors and pump allready...only extra cost will be fuel lines....ill have to check on that.
so i cant run e85 on stock fuel system...but i can run normal gas on system for e85...so i could maybe just have a small extra cell for e85 and use it when i go to the track or vise versa...tunning is no biggie....we can always reflash the pcm with the right tune....seems like a win win for me.

I've been running E85 in the C6Z for about 8 months now, no problems. Fuel mileage definitely took a turn for the worse. I'm just an n/a car so I haven't gotten many of the major benefits of the fuel, but my new setup with 13.8:1 heads should change that feeling since I would never be able to run this type of compression on pump gas. We'll see how she does with the new WCCH heads and after that, we'll see how she does with a bottle on top of that.

Just dont get caught running low at night. All the fill stations at Kroger close at 9 or 10pm. I ran it all the time on my inline 6 with boost. Plan on running it on my 13:1 408 too. Big pump and big injectors are a must

dam thats a nice right up and from that article and many people who have been running e85 say it will not corrode anything..... so the myth that you have to upgrade lines is not true.....just upgrade your injectors and fuel pump....then tune....tune is a lil tricky since this still need some getting use to and more people sharing there results.....plus starting can take a lil to program .....so this keeps loooking better and better for me.....if i do go e85...i for sure will bump up my cc ...maybe by milling my heads a lil to clean up.
