7-Digit Plates Just wondering if anyone else got fooled into buying the 7-digit plates earlier this year? I finally paid off the lay-away for mine. I got "DIRTY 30" in the Lone Star White/Blue w/Small Star Plates. http://www.ls2.com/forums/images/smi...ntiac-30th.gif |
Sweet, no I didn't get on in time. |

Get fooled?? How's that?? I bought two plates.. Got another email the other day saying there rolling out another 7 plate deal coming end of year. I'm buying another two plates... |
lol i was just saying cause they were expensive. I went for the 10-year plates, that way it came out to $800. :D |

Im not gonna be crazy enough to change from the normal personalized ones. Paying $200+ on top of registration is insane. |
I almost bought "HED HNTR" but couldn't pull the trigger with that price tag |
Too bad it wont let you check the availability of a 7 digit plate currently :bang: |
Don't ya love the price increase since they handed the vanity plates off to a private company. I still only pay 50 more a year for mine since I grandfathered in on both of mine. They can choke on the 150$ a year jump I don't care how bad ass they make them look. |
If you buy them in 10 year chunks its only 80/yr so its not that bad imo. |

Well then sport the regular plates, can't please everyone. |
I got mine at $80/yr too but on my TURBWHO plates I paid $200/yr :( way too expensive. Last year I'm doing that one though. |
Its the principal of it. Just by price the cheapest per year charge is twice what it was a few years ago. Now... if all this extra money was going into the state coffers I wouldn't whine as much, but its a private company that is turning a profit. Most likely a private company owned in full or part by one of our senators or their election buddies. That's why I refuse to ever get another vanity plate, it reeks of corruptiion and until proven otherwise I refuse to feed money to that company. |
Vanity plates were okay when they were marginally more expensive than regular plates. You could get a quick laugh with some of them. There's absolutely no way I'm going to give them what they're asking for them now, I'm not that vain. |

I spend more than 80 bucks for a nice dinner with the wife so to me its not that big of a deal. I realize its the principal but there's a lot more important crap to get pissed about than license plates. Just my .02 |
With the amount of money I waste every month the $80 per year didn't seem too bad. I jumped on the 7 letter plate for my G8 GXP. I got SLOW4DR but won't put it on the car until it's under boost. |
