For comparison performance shops in our area avg. $90/hr. for labor.

So...

Labor: $90/hr. x 20hrs. (book install hours) = $1,800

Fluids/Shop Equipment/Misc. Parts: $150

Dyno Tune: $450+

I'de expect if paying someone else to open a box and follow directions for me to spend just shy of $3k to shop + $6k for the supercharger purchase. Add taxes and viola, $10k quote I see all around town...
