Build Thread: Lsx, 4L80, GT55-94: Street car WS6

Well I picked up this car from MightyMouse in May of last year. Car was a monster but being the power junkie that I am I needed more and my hand was slightly forced LOL

After some issues with the stock crank and ERL block I decided to go LSX block with a dragonslayer crank.

Finished!

Got the car back on the ground and drove it for a bit. Going to the dyno this week. Numbers will not be posted until after tx2k13 and the next Texas Invitational

Tiago is the man! If he says he is gonna do something he does it and does it well! I am always impressed with his work and he will be the only fabricator I use! He provided hours of advice and days of work! But he enjoyed the work he was doing most of the time! LOL!!

Seafish helped track down parts and supervised the job LOL!

Dopefedz/Bizzatch both come by and helped out when minor issues came up.

Blkcoupe90 did the majority of removal and installation of motor and trans.

MightyMouse: answered any and all questions I may have had, no matter how stupid they may have sounded lol. I owe you big time Dave!

I wont lie I considered putting the project on hold but these guys didn't let me. I am grateful to have such a great group of skilled/talented friends.

I have over 500 pics of the motor build/this entire process. As I go through them I will add more pics.

Looks good, it'll make in the 850 range, lol....

Stroked96Bowtie 03-04-2013 08:49 AM

How many cubes did you go with? Crazy to see a crank break like that. Def dropped a coin or two on that setup..should be a monster.

edub80 03-04-2013 09:03 AM

what kind of gains in times are you expecting? or is that top secret too?

Car drove great yesterday during break in. Can't wait to see what it does on full power!

If the car goes any faster than it did before I'll be happy if not no big deal. I just wanna drive it and have fun.

Old turbo was maxed out at 1060rwhp this one has much more room to grow if I can get it to hook and hold the power it should go faster but I know it's not gonna happen on just one track outing.

FasTimeSS 03-04-2013 01:45 PM

the old setup made 1060? dyno numbers really dont mean shit so i dont blame you I think its more about the track number.

FlashWS6 03-04-2013 02:03 PM

1060rwhp unlocked but ran a best of 8.4@162mph

It will make what it makes on 30psi :)

Looks Nice, any particular reason for cathedral ports other than to reuse your intake?

venom ws7 03-04-2013 03:40 PM

I think the new setup is good for another 300rwhp.. :D

Congrats on getting her done man and great work Tiago and everyone involved.. :)

Already had em, why not use em?

I wanted to keep the combo as similar to what it was before besides the new block/crank and turbo. If they become a restriction I'll consider buying the newest/greatest and latest heads.

LOL fuel system will be the limit right now I believe. May switch to a single Weldon if needed.

three83'camaro 03-04-2013 04:53 PM

Makes sense. I guess I assumed they where new heads and didnt think that you just reused the whole topend. looks good none the less and congrats on getting it back on the road!

Tiago 03-04-2013 06:30 PM

billet 94 = and stock intake manifold = :bomb:

Looks good like good quality fabrication for sure, congratts! My build is almost complete also. LME LSx 427, 4L80, TF 245's, and also a single T-6 turbo.

khenry 03-04-2013 08:40 PM
