Default Who's got a 2014 Chevrolet 1500?

Just curious if any of you guys have one and how do you like it? Have you pulled a car hauler with car? Curious to know if the new 5.3's pull better? Trying to debate on what I want to get next.

A buddy of mine traded his truck in on a 14 sierra. I have ridden in it a few times, the truck is very quiet, comfortable, definitely makes more power than my 12, and gets better gas mileage.

They run better but still no comparison to 6.2 for pulling. You will def see a difference though from a 12 to 14.

I just got a 2014 1500 chevy in Sept. Pulls my race car on a open trailer much better than my 07.

Nice!

I wouldn't mind getting a diesel but I just can't justify it if I'm only pulling the car maybe once a weekend.

I want a 14' GMC SLT loaded.

I had one for a few weeks while I had Reliable Chevrolet fix a few things on my GTO when I bought it from them. This one was fully loaded and I loved it...the gas mileage was great but I do think the engine lacked a little. For a city truck it was great...but I'm not sure how I'd feel about towing anything of a higher weight.

I would like a '14 GM pickup, but I would love a '15 Duramax. Either way, with the prices of vehicles getting even more and more ridiculous, I don't see myself ever buying a brand new vehicle again. But I too have been wondering if the '14 pickups are better at towing than the previous two body styles.

The new 2014 Trucks with the 5.3s are strong little engines. The new 5.3L with a tune will walk a stock 2013 GM truck with a 6.2L. Of course, the new 2014 6.2s are even stronger, but I'm very impressed with how strong the new 5.3s are, especially after a tune.

I hear ya on the ridiculous prices. The one I want is 43k sticker price. Ain't no way in hell im paying that for a truck. I'm hoping some of them start showing up used at the end of the year.

They're already rebating them back, sticker price on a new full size almost doesn't mean anything any more. My Lariat stickered well over $40K, the rebates were some thing around 25% off that price.

Check out Mac Haik's website, they have a 4 wheel drive LTZ crew cab for $35K. I thought about picking up a E350 or Lexus GS for a daily, but a truck is so damn practical and the up level trims are pretty nice for what they are. I don't need or have use for a diesel.

Active fuel mgt is still enabled with the tune. People with good tunes are reporting nice gains in fuel economy as well. The stock tune is pretty conservative.

So your telling me a 2014 5.3 will run 14.0's I don't think so my lil brother just traded a 2011 6.2 in that ran 14.0 un tuned and 13:80 tuned. He just got a 2014 6.2 ran 14.1 then Steven tuned at the track and it ran 13:8's..so sounds like to me the 6.2 run about the same which Steven will tell u he but a BS tune in it just for giggles.

Patrick what is the mpg difference between the 5.3 and 6.2 after tuning?

I just traded in my 07 silverado for a 14 sierra and the difference is outstanding. Mines a double cab sle Texas edition with the 5.3, perfect work truck...

i have a 2014 gmc slt z71 4x4 w/ 3.42's with black leather heated / cooled seats, trailer brakes, sliding rear window. no nav and no bose. i had a 2012 sierra 5.3 before this one and this one picks up speed much better. the torque management is still crazy stupid on these trucks. taking off from a stop light you have to give it a lot of the go pedal for it to move but once it hits like 2000 rpm's it kinda puts you back in your seat. pulled that trailer in the pic below pretty decent but it was nothing too heavy either.

the day i got it.

took the ugly chrome mirror caps and handles off..
