Default Why isn't there a reputable Manual trans shop in Houston?

I have a STG 5 super magnum with a broken interlocking plate and it needs to be replaced along with a general inspection of the trans. I have a new born and a bottom end that need to be torn apart and don't have time to dig into this Transmission. I cant find a single decent recommendation for a manual trans shop in the mecca of all that is LSX..

Oh yeah and I'm on a budget. Please advise..

So can you not find one?

Or just not find one that works for little to no money?

If the guy that's been doing the transmissions with Joe since t56 rebuilds is now at kp racing.

He does good ****.

I didn't say i was going to pay the guy in peanuts and belly button lent. I am just looking for a fair price. I havent shopped around price wise. I have made a few phone calls to reputable auto shops looking for recommendations and everyone says ship it out.

Changing that interlock plate is pretty easy. And if the trans wasn't exhibiting any other problems I wouldn't bother tearing the rest of it apart. I could do it but I have a T56 in pieces on my dining room table already and I have a motor to yank.

Victor @ 510 did mine, this was a little while back before he took over the space and opened VZ Autoworks and 510 moved on to a shop in Spring.

I have been happy with it so far...
