Default My Son's First Car

Well even though his daddy brought him up to bleed Ford blue he still had his mind set that one day he would own a 68 Camaro.I love the fact that he wouldn't budge and love it more that he cant wait to get out in the garage with his old man and get her running.Years worth of pictures to follow.

That's awesome. A 1st gen Camaro simply looks better than a 1st gen mustang and he knows it! Lol

That should keep him busy and teach him some skills that he can use over his lifetime.

I may end up a similar route with my kids. The great thing about this newer technology is, you can throw one nasty LS in there and put an unattended teen safe tune in it for when you aren't at the strip.

I knew it was gonna be a long road, but I'm proud of the patience and hard work my son has shown this far.So far this is the only panel sanded and primed, but its gotten 4 new tires and new bolts for so we can hang the doors. After those go on then its on to the front end.Slow and steady

How old is he? My Dad and I did the same thing, I bought a rusted out '69 Camaro when I was 15 with money saved from mowing lawns and working at McD's. Then we spent a year restoring it on a budget. We used to hit swap meets and junkyards often, as Craigslist and ebay didn't exist back then. We finished the car a week before I turned 16.

Thats awesome! Me and my dad did a 69 GTO when I was a early teen. Bought it and paid for parts myself from working summers and winter breaks at the sheet metal plant he worked at. Great memories!

He's 13 Tony so it should work out perfect time wise . We definitely have our work cut out for us,but the payoff and the journey make it all worth it.Couldn't ask for much more as a Father. Its amazing how many people stop and shoot the **** when the garage door is open and we're out there working. But The smile on his face lets me know it means as much to him as it does for me.

Today she is in roller status.Hung the doors and put new tires on her.Our goal is to have her at the body shop before school starts. But it looks like time is on our side.
