Default brick masons?

Had some exterior damage done to my shop and need some bricked replaced. The old brick is going to need removed and new brick put in. The area is only about 4' wide by 6' high. What should I expect to pay to have this done including having the mason supply the brick?

Right now I can't even get someone to come out and give me a price. I keep hearing how busy everyone is. ??? I worked on a mason crew during the summers in college and feel comfortable laying brick so I may end up having to do it myself but was curious what the cost should be and whether or not it would be just easier to pay someone.

Thanks.

I own a masonry company and yes, everyone is swamped. I turn down work all the time.

Anyway, I would check on getting the brick you need first. Call the supplier if you know who it was and give them your address. Make sure you can get the brick. If its Acme, they keep the files for 20 years.

As for the price. I would charge about 1000.00 at least not including the brick pretty easily depending on what it needs and if I have to haul off the debris. You'll be lucky if you find the brick in stock anywhere. Most likely have to order it and it can take up to 3 months to get it if it has to be made. You go into their next production run of that color. And you will buy a full cube since they most likely will not sell just what you need.

Good luck.

Thank you. I'm not a mason by any means and could not do it for a living but I did lay brick for 4 years of college summer "vacation" to help pay for school so it sounds like it would be cheaper and easier to do it myself when I'm off this summer (I'm a school teacher). It's not that big of an area and it seems fairly straight-forward so I may give it a go myself to save some money.

Thank you again.

Get the materials, pick up a home depot parking lot crew, about 20 mins before they're done call a friend to come over wearing INS uniform.
