Default Vehicle state inspections, emissions testing

Been thinking about moving to Texas for a while and was wondering what you guys do to pass emissions yearly. None of my vehicles have emissions equipment on them anymore. Thanks for the responses

Just did my inspection on Sunday at a local shop. Paid $7 for a one year inspection ... Some shops offer 2 years. No emissions tests whatsoever and I know because I also lived in California. They check the usual and give you the ok. I live in Odessa Texas so if different counties want to be more stringent then I'm sorry for misleading you. Good luck!

I did not know shops offered two year inspections. Can anyone shed some light on this as well as who in the Houston area might provide them.

I was always under the impression it was yearly but every two years would be nice.

i dont believe you'll have a problem as long as your car's computer says all is well. i had one or two too many not readys and failed and had to retest. I wasnt throwing any codes and I have LTs with no cats. they didnt look under the car. My build just didnt have enough miles on it.

They don't, I've asked. They only do one year now. The only cars that get two years are brand new vehicles.

Houston does have emissions inspections. Technically they won't pass a visual inspection, but a lot of shops don't do anything but hook up the computer. All depends on the inspector.

The powerjoke should be safety only.
