Tell me your inspection experiences in DFW...
I just picked up a new to me 99 Z and the inspection is almost out. I'm about to get it reinspected and curious if yall have anyone you recommend in DFW. Upon inspection car will have all the usual mods. Anyone know of a place that yall have had good experiences with?
You can PM me if you like.
Thanks alot!

I'm in Tarrant county and they don't do emissions testing. They plug into the computer port and All of the tests have to be complete in your computer except one. You will have to go to the county where you live. I just go to the inspection place in Grapevine, corner of Main and Northwest hwy. You might stop by Auto Zone or OReilly's and get them to plug in their checker to see if you have codes showing before you go.

I used to own a '99 corvette and I don't recall them putting a sniffer in the tailpipe. If you have no codes in the computer you are prolly OK.
I have slept since then, so I could be mistaken.

that is emissions testing, 96 and newer models use the obd port rather than the sniffer so it's much easier to pass... pre 2001 you are allowed 2 not ready and 2001+ only 1 not ready is allowed to still pass... like I said if your safety items work (brakes, lights, etc), you have no mil, and the readiness monitors are set (regardless of if they have been tricked by your tune, the inspector wouldn't know anyway) they will usually overlook things like no cats or dark window tint... but if your car is in bad shape good luck trying to find someone to do it, all the info is sent to the state through the obd port so if there are any discrepancies it throws them a red flag and they may or may not do anything about that particular inspection but to most inspectors it isn't worth the risk
