Default Anybody in the hotshot/gooseneck business?

I'm thinking of getting a truck and gooseneck to do some hauling. I've got plenty of experience hauling and driving, but I've never been an owner operator. Is there good work out there for goosenecks? Or is it mostly for big rigs? I'm willing to run the 48 states. My current job just isn't working out for me and my family, plus my recent experiences with my bosses have left me kinda not wanting to work for anyone else. I have a few contacts in the oilfield and and so considered signing on with acme to get loads. Any advice?

I'm always hiring CDL drivers with clean records.
Usually have haul trucks for sale too if you're looking for a rollback or rig to start your own business.

What's your home time policy? I ask because my current job tries to keep it so I spend a total of 2 days a month with my family. That doesn't work for me, I'd like to be more involved in my kids' lives.

Home time policy? We are 100% short runs, go home every day!!

We follow in-state DOT rules with 150-mile-air-radius exceptions. Currently my CDL drivers get to work between 6-6:30am and usually park around 4:30pm (no point driving an 18-wheeler in Houston 5 o'clock unless necessary).

Open 7am-5pm M-F and Sat 7am-noon.
