Default 4l60 vs 4l65 for 05 gto

Had a friend lose 3rd in their gto. Have a spare 4l60 laying around and was wondeerng if they could toss it in even though they have a 4l65. What are the differences I have read the 65 has a 300 mm input and the 60 has a 298mm. 65 has 5 planetaries 60 has 4.

also i told them to have circle open the convertor since stuff might have got in it or to get a new one.

All 98 + Ls have a 300mm input shaft

You can toss the 60e.
The main differences are 6 clutches as opposed to 7 in stock units. And the 65 has 5 pin planetary as opposed to 4 which is a non issue
