Default The Astros are really good

at losing.

Chad Qualls sucks really hard. Also, could you guys possibly score more than 1 run per game? Thanks.

Gawddammit tell me about it. This is so frustrating. I was at the game last night, so much false hope. Yay 3 home runs! Wait, still lost by 3

Astros have a great bullpen this year, they just can't generate any offense. And you can't win without that. I think Bagwell is done, I doubt he will ever be back, hopefully Lance being back can help generate some hits. They need to get on the ball bad.

The Astros are good....FOR ME TO POOP ON!

What a waste. Let's go down the line-up, shall we?

Biggio - OK. Pulling his own weight offensively and only boots a grounder occasionally.
Taveras - Above average center fielder. I wish he could do more than bunt his way on.
Bagwell - New nickname: Flaccido Noswingo. Even healthy, he's useless on both offense and defense. Please retire!
Berkman - Will probably be OK once he gets back into the groove. Just don't try to run out any grounders.
Lane - Started great, got cocky, lost swing.
Everett - Can't even bat his own weight.
Ensberg - Apparently, he is trying to get ready for his career as an umpire, because he sure as hell isn't swinging the bat.
Ausmus - You might look like Peter North, but you hit like ****.
Burke - Back in AAA. Still looks like Mr. Peepers from SNL.
Lamb - Could be good, if he got playing time.
Vizcaino - Not bad. Not good. Very average.
Palmeiro - See Vizcaino.
Luke Scott - Enjoy Round Rock. Get used to it. You're just not ready.

Wow! What a potent line-up! /sarcasm

I also think Bags is done.... They were showing some vids. when he was younger, and he looked pretty healthy/strong now he looks tired/aged.... On the other hand, Clemens looks like hes right in his prime; most pitchers when they are near retirement they arent the best anymore.... but Clemens is kicking a$$;

That about sums it for for me, except for the "healthy Bagwell" part. I wish we did have a healthy Bagwell. That Bagwell hasn't been around since 2000.
Endsburg needs to swing at close pitches when he already has 2 strikes. I have seen him get called out on strikes WAY too many times. I think it's almost time for Everett to sit down and Viz come in as our starting shortstop. Everett makes some good defensive plays, but his bat and the ball aren't really getting along.

As far as the bullpen goes...The numbers might look good on paper, but it still sucks. I'd guess the era average is pretty low, because they come into a tie game, and give up 1 or 2 runs to blow it. ERA doesn't go up much, but we still loose the damn game.
I'm not trying to be easy on the offense. They need to seriously get their asses in gear, especially with guys like Qualls and Springer coming in as "relief". I don't think those 2 guys and the word relief have anything in common.

I have also questioned quite a few of Garner's calls. He has an average base runner (happened last night...can't remember who) steal 3rd w/ 1 out...of course the runner gets thrown out. We go from a runner in scoring position w/ 1 out to no men on w/ 2 outs. Good call Garner. That's some smart ball there. He also has guys w/ some power (Biggio) bunt to advance someone from 2nd to 3rd. WTF? Let him swing away. He's hit more doubles than anyone else in Astros history. Let the man hit!

That's all.
