Default Keep the Z06 or get the V

Okay here is the deal, I am working on a deal on a 04 Black on Black CTS-V, with 10K miles.

I have a 02 MY z06 Vette just turned 50K.

I can't decide if I want to keep the vette or get a V, I really like the v and it has obviously more room.

Dam I can decide what to do, anyone want to help, what would you do and why ????

You sound bored. It happens to all of us. I'll bet you get bored more quickly with the V if you buy it.

Get a C6 instead

Well the only reason I won't get another vette at this time, is when I come back home from Wi, I will be back at Real Estate full time, and want to get more into the House side of things. A V gives me a car I can have fun in and take people to show homes in, then when I get rich like Tony I will have a C6 Z06.

That was what I was thinking. Keep the ideas comming

Brand new a CTS-V is 53K sticker, with employee discount you can get one for around 46K or a little less, but add all the lux tax and **** to that.

You can get a 04-05 used for 37-45 used depending on miles and stuff, comes with a LS6 motor, in case you didn't know.

These are hard cars to find, they made like 3900 or so in 04 and 04 was in the 4900ish range.

They come with 4yr 50K mile warranty, has navi/dvd, weighs about 700lbs more than the Z06, have seen them run low low 13's stock.

The problems that I have seen are the rearends and wheel hop issue, which there is a TSB on, just came out. So we will see if that fixes the problem.

Other than that it is a pimp *** ride, very sweet interior, 4 door, and can haul ***, just need some NOS and make that thing move just a little quicker.

So I have till about 5 to make my mind up, just need some help on this.

hmm ya well I am geting a daily drive for WI, this next month, nothing special just a 93 mer topaz, so I can drive that piece in the winter.

The V or Z would be comming home in sept. and sitting up till i fly home and drive it or when I come home for good, which ever comes first.

Here is what KBB says Trade in value is on this car.
Just to give you an idea on what it is worth

Consumer Rated Condition: Good
"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history , the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.

Trade-In Value List Your Car For Sale Online $40,015
Trade-in Value is what consumers can expect to receive from a dealer for a trade-in vehicle assuming an accurate appraisal of condition. This value will likely be less than the Private Party Value because the reselling dealer incurs the cost of safety inspections, reconditioning and other costs of doing business.

Well the thing i like about the Lac is that it is all luxury on the inside. It has a LS6 motor to boot. So it has both qualitys

I would imagine your going to get bored with it. Cant really toss a big cam in it and haul clientele around with it. I would atleast want something to play with. If your not constantly modding it, its no fun.

It IS a nice car though, and Id really like to have one, but id still need another car around that I can modify/race/ play with.

Sure you can do a little stuff to the caddy, but not so much that youd take away its driveablity.

But the fact is, if you NEED a 4 door for work, then get it, or maybe try to get a nicer cheap Taurus or something in addition to the vette.

I would never in a million years choose a V over the Z0, they do have a LS6, but they're SLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW. As SJRTX said you can't mod the V and tote potential home buyer's around in it. Keep the Z0, and get a nice 4 door car to haul clients in, then go nuts on modding the Z0. That way you can have your cake and eat it too....

Ya well if I get the caddy, you can bet I will start putting a project car together, like a nice 91 LX mustange with a sbc in it, and have fun. No doubt I will have and get another car to play with. Might not be a vette, but will be a fast car for sure, the only thing that I would do with the caddy, is a bottle and intake and header and just bolt ons. no came or heads needed. Then it would be fast enough for me for a while.
