How's the action in San Antonio? I might be moving from NY to San Antonio. Cost of living is way cheaper in TX compared to NY. So much that my wife is trying to bribe me with a LS7 Z06 if we move. I checked out the drag strip in San Antonio when I was down there last. It would be a 40 min. ride to the track compared to 2 hours that I have to trailer my car to now. And the fact that I can drive the car all year round sounds good, I won't have to use 4WD in 12-24 inches of snow and won't have to plow and snowblow snow. What I didn't see on vaca is anywhere to ride my 4-wheeler. So were is there places to ride or MX a 4-wheeler in San Antonio? I have a Banshee with a 404 big bore kit and I don't want to sell it because of the move, it's bad enough I have to get ride of my sno-X snowmobile but that can be replaced with a jet ski, but then again I didn't see any place to take a jet ski either besides river walk. |
For a new z06 I'd move anywhere.....anywhere with paved roads that is. San Antonio is a great city to live in. I lived there for a year and a half when I was studying to be a nurse. |
about 30-40 mins north of san antonio off of I35 there are a ton of places to jetski. i can't imagine there not being places to ride a 4wheeler. tons of country space there. |
Theres plenty to do around here . South east of S.a there's a dirt bike track in Floresville . At the track , there's always something going on . Wednesdays , Fridays & Saturdays . Its hot down here in the summer but you don't have to worry about the snow !!! And if you like Mexican food , you will be in heaven . |
I have heard of off-road places in SA. I have a friend who used to live there. You can ride jet ski`s dang near 8 months out of the year down here. |

Good times down here. We have a great group of guys in the f body association :) |
I made the move from PA nearly a decade ago....the climate will be an extreme change for you. Most say that you get used to the heat....I think they're full of crap....but it's worth it for the warmer winters and nearly everyday having sunshine (as opposed to the months of overcast weather up north). I have a dirtbike...there is a dirt track a few miles past the drag strip where you can ride your 4 wheeler...the other tracks don't allow them, to my knowledge. There are also various places in town that you can go trail riding...it's not exactly legal, but everyone does it anyway. The jet ski or boat is a good idea...I pretty much live out at the lake on the weekends in the summertime...the only thing you can stand to do when it's 100!!! Good luck with the move! |
Pleanty of lakes..... Media Lake, Canyon Lake, Braunig Lake, Calaveras Lake... If you'd care to travel a little ways you can go to Choke Canyon... Not to mention we're only 2 to 2 1/2 hrs from the beach !! And a great bunch of guys and gals in the SAFBA !! |

only the old guys.........lol. the 2 main FBody guys in SA are without their Fbodies, so the streets are calm for now.. it looks as though both cars will be done around the same time though. |
