Default Had a Lotus Elise for lunch...mmmmm

In Denton, on my way to my father-in-law's house on Teasley, came off the highway and saw what I thought was a Lotus. Made the comment to my wife: "hey, that looks like a Lotus. They're pretty light and can handle well" I get behind him at the red light at Londonderry and just sit.

Light turns green, he takes off. I follow suit, and stay right on him, only difference being that I never floored it. Calmly, I says to my wife "I'm not even on it, watch this" Put it to the floor, open the e-cutout I've had on for a week, and start moving closer to him. As we neared 110-115, I honked, backed off, and had to turn around because I had missed my street.

Anyone know where this guy lives? It was right before the bend towards Eureka Park. Thought it was a good story (wish it was considered a kill), wish we could've been side by side instead of one behind the other.

possible to do an LSx conversion in one of those? kinda like a modern day fiero, 'cept maybe a little classier. if people can fit LS1's and pontiac 455's in a fiero, i'd think you could fit one in an Elise? oh, that would be badass

I see two of 'em every day, on the way to/from work. One red, one yellow. Neither of 'em even want to test the GTO, we'll see if I can get 'em to bite tomorrow in the Formula

Stock LT1? I put just a hair under 300 hp to the ground If it can outrun a stock LT1, it makes me happy just to outrun it. Believe me, he was trying (what else do you call 110 in a 35? )

Brains - You might already know, but the owner of the yellow one owns China Inn off 10 next to Landry's just before Mason heading East. I ate him in my old Z.

The Elise is a great track car. Hands down, one of the best handling cars out there. But, it's not a straight line accerator like our cars. It's so funny that people like to race cars that aren't in their league, claim a "kill", but laugh when some Honda Civic with NOS wants to run!

Just because it's a Lotus?? Pah-lease!! It's like racing a Porsche Boxster. Big deal. We all know that we can beat them. What's next, hunting down S2000's?

Just my two cents!

Brian
