My dad watched it at the insurance aution last week. Someone paid 36,000 for the salvage. :loco: I saw the car and there was nothing salvageable on the motor other than the long block. the front frame was trashed. its always going to have a salvage title. I figured 15-20k but not 36K.

I see a motor, driveline, brakes, interior, some glass, catback, radio (maybe it had the high dollar navagation and CD changer option). All thoes parts new from gm would prolly cost about that much. I can see the person parting the car out. He could make a lot of money seeing as a lot of thoes parts arent yet available from GM.

Don't know the options but every accessory, bracket, intake, dry sump parts ect were trashed. Only one wheel survived ect ect.

He only deals in Dodge Cummins truck rebuilders but he was watching this one since he thought he might give 10ish to get the long block for his Chevy II project and sell off the rest. He couldn't believe it went for 36K.

Now back to the subject, did they give that guy some KY to go with it?

Well I hope he gets his moneys worth :dunno: . Jeeze he could have bought a brand new crate motor for less than half of that.

Too much car for the 60+yo driving. Ordered it with Museum delivery, drove back from Bowling Green, decided to yet on it hard on 75 service road and resulted in parking under the truck. I think there was like 880 miles on it when I saw it.

Man, that picture looks horrible....

JackZ28 02-17-2006 08:50 AM

That is someone with WAAAYYYY too much damn money to spend. They would certainly pay more to get it back on the road than they would for a new one.
