Anyone catch Pinks last night?
 

It was the domestic vs import shootout. Jeff "Got Milk" Creech was the negotiator for the domestic car. Not sure if he's a member here but he's an old timer on the F-body.org list. Pretty cool seeing someone you know on TV and it's not cops or the news:)

It was a turbo Honda Civic against an LT1 T/A with a D-1, 383, AFR heads and a bottle. Supposedly they were both 600hp cars but the T/A with half a tune should have put 700 to the wheels without the bottle, and looked like it did. The Honda was maybe a 12 second car and had his ass handed to him a few times.

i saw it. i enjoyed watchin the F-Body stomp the shit out of that import!

That car runs 9.5s. It was funny to see the Honda crew call it a 10.50 car, so they would have to run it without nitrous and give up two cars. They were being setup for a nitrous run the whole time.

Damn i missed it but I know the LT1 your talking about, its a mid 9 sec street car the gas is on there just to get it moving since its so heavy. Deff a bad ass car! Theres been a ton of LT1s on Pinks, that TA, a black 96 Z and Tony's 97 Z28 glad to see the old mills still run good :devil:

LT1 domination HAHA, Both episodes where pretty good. The first one with the Vette, that guy was making power and the other guy still wanted heads up. That is very noble no land given up but the Nova stoled the move on that dude once for sure. The civic guys where typical import types crying asking for to much, all I can say is if your going to do something like that show you better get the sand out of your vagina and let your balls hang out.

the LT1 even gave him 20 car links. if i have to ask for 20 car links then obviously i'm in over my head!

that wasnt a race, that was pure rape!!! Why race a car and ask for lenghs?? thats just stupid. a real race is heads up. i really dont like the show but i had to watch that. racing is always heads up.....am i right?

I have to admit. I felt bad for that kid. It was clear he was out of his league. It looked like he wanted to cry when he handed over the keys!

I liked that show. I couldn't believe he kept asking for so many cars. Was that TA only running a 100 shot?

At some point i thought Civic guy was going to ask if he could be about 10 ft from the end of quarter mile since he asked for 20 car lengths. That was too funny!

I know I saw it at Sport city and when they asked for 20 car and saw the fly by I was like damn that civic is more than half way down there. The last race what was it... Missed it the channel messed up and didnt see it. WHat happened???

Pinks is a cool show, but one thing I do not understand which always seems to be a problem on that show...WHERE IS THE FUCKING TREE!?!? Why does that bald fuck have to give them the go ahead?? As for the TA and Civic, what a drag. As everyone else agrees that kid was in way over his head. 12 lengths?? then 20?? come on what is that??

it's a show that comes out on the speed channel. they race for "Pinks." comes out on wednesdays at 7:30 central time.

He posted a time slip on CZ28.com, car ran 9.5@144, 3900lb car on a 1.48 sixty. It does have a 100 shot on it to get it out the hole. It also has a really small set of AFR LT4 heads on it and that blower isnt that huge, couple LT1 guys with F1s, but very cool set up, car runs well with it.

the last race was 2 cars for the civic...and the bottle for the LT1 cause he lost second gear

Jeff Creech was saying they over heated the trans really bad and thats what killed it.

That happens when you sit on the transbrake waiting for an import to get his boost where he wants it. I used to HATE racing the Buick guys, they'd light up the first beam and it'd take a good 20-30 seconds sitting on the brakes before they'd roll into the second beam. Now with the boost building tables in DFI, transbrakes and converter technology where it is it's not a problem:) That and courtesy staging is nice.

They said ATI sent them a good trans, but they car needed a lot bigger cooler and like you said, less time on the T-brake.

it would be much better if they just did heads up, if i went there and raced a far lesser car and lost due to given links to him what does that prove? they say they want the best possible race, and that the show is supposed to settle the argument of who's car is faster. Well they should do some screening to make sure that the cars are closer to equal.. hell gives me an idea, ill buy a 88 civic throw a dual stage on it, call out a new z06, sand bag first run, spray 2nd run and spray bigger 3rd run and take home a new z06......i think the show is a good idea but it needs alot of work to make it a good show... btw that was a funny ass episode

I really didn't see why they even needed the brake to beat that Honda. I mean sure for a bracket car or a serious heads up race by all means use it but when you're hammering his ass by 12 car lengths and there isn't a timeslip just footbrake it. Then again my car used to 60ft 1.4s with a footbrake and a bottle:)
