I could not tell what it was until I saw the wide back wheels.

You do, only with wings or horns. That is a wicked wreck. I don't know if I could identify it if the wheels were not present.

"Well, now for the sad ending- according to Canton, MS Sheriff's police, the vehicle was being driven by a 17 year old male, accompanied by his 16 year old girlfriend. They were travelling at an extremely high rate of speed, in the rain, and lost control. The vehicle was estimated to have "cart-wheeled" at least 8 times and ended up hitting a tree, point of impact mid-air 12 feet off the ground. It took out several other trees, and landed on its roof over 100 feet from that point. Estimated speed was in excess of 130 mph.

Talk about crazy.

What's crazy is I was just looking at the pictures in my hotel room about 30 min ago when I heard some thumping. Turns out a kid (or at least he looked like a kid and sounded like a kid) just rolled a truck turning off the interstate towards the hotel. The truck is trashed and I didn't have a camera. Talked to guy that said he saw it and the kid rolled it four or five times. Not near as bad as the Z06 though (not even close) but still crazy. Does anybody know if the kids were OK. I helped a guy unload a C5 vert that clipped the top of a telephone pole at approx. 170 mph. It didn't look that bad but the guy and girl lived. Wish I had pics of that too but I don't. You could tell it was a vette by the tires and part of the hood only.
