Cant Believe This

I was on 45 gulf frwy today, and i saw a 98-99 model eclipse destroy a new vette. i couldnt believe what i was seeing, he must have pulled him at least three car lenghts. I didnt think that was possible.

It was a marron in color eclipse and a yellow in color vette. Maybe the vette was just toying with him to make him feel fast, i sure hope so !!!!!

or maybe the eclipse was built bad ***....tough death for the vette

I have a buddy with an eagle talon(same as eclipse) running a 12.7. Those cars can be made fast and weigh in at 2800lbs. He slapped on a bigger turbo, header, tuning. Check out this vid of us racing at HRP, I gave him the move and he ended up beating me to the finish line.

I'm not surprised. There's all kind of cars out there with a built motor and a big turbo now a days.

i could believe an eclipse beating a 'vette. the number of eclipses that can do so are far outnumbered by the ones that can't, but anything is possible with enough money....

i bet it was pretty strange to actually see it happening in person, tho...

agreed, one of my friends in ft worth has a 97 eclipse GSX, pretty quick lil bugger. i don't think its c6 vette fast but it can give some people some trouble, the 1gen eclipse's are pretty good as well, hot rod did a cover story on one that was pushing 30lbs of boost. but with the 1g's, they're cheap to mod, but if they are near 300 hp to the wheels, i've seen more broke than running.
