When Gracie fought in the UFC 12 years ago no one knew BJJ. Remember Hughes is a Submission specialist also. And Gracie is not allowed to use a GI, Hughes will know how to counter anything Gracie throws at him, not to mention he out powers him by a long shot. This fight is gonna be a joke, I see the Gracie family throwing in the towel

I agree. Its a new era, the fighters are better conditioned and the top guys like Hughes know all Gracies moves and more now. By the time Gracie left the scene he was starting to take some beatings to get those submisions. I dont think this will go well for Gracie......

Gracie by no means has stopped training/fighting...it's not like he hasn't evolved (aka Shamrock) but I just don't see him doing anything but having Matt lay on him in guard.

I think everyone is going to be disappointed. It's going to be a very boring fight.

I've seen those profiles more times than you know. Hell I grew up watching Hughes wrestle back at Highland High IL before he went on to wrestle colleigately (sp). What does how many fights you have over 10 years mean? Doesn't mean Gracie nor Hughes has stopped training/working MMA/BJJ at all. You could argue that Gracie is more rested and body is healthy because he hasn't been fighting as much. That doesn't really matter with these two at all.

IMO Dana signed this fight as a passing of the torch and to show how much the sport has evolved over the last 10 years.

There is such a thing as ring rust? Most fighters recognize it as real. Sparing isnt the same. And your right, I have no idea how many times you have seen those..... You must just want to argue, you said Hughes would win and I said Hughes would win, I guess you just feel it will be Hughes' lucky day and dont feel it will because he is younger, stronger and at the top of his game.

Enjoy the fight

I think Hughes will win. He is just a beast. He's strong, is a good striker, good submission skills, and great ground and pound. I think Gracie is washed up, we'll see.

I’ve heard that Royce is in the best shape of his life. This could be very interesting.

I don't think so. I think the Sakara fight will be more entertaining.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing Gumby (Horn) tap Chael too. I like watching Jeremy fight.

This is a toughy. I'm gonna say Hughes because I"m a Hughes fan. For the Swick/Riggs fight ... I dunno. I think Swick will take it.
