Default New track in Dallas

My cousin was telling me that there is a new track being built in Dallas. He said he thought it was going to be over near Texas Motor Speedway. Apparently, (according to what he heard) someone has been wanting to buy Texas Motorplex in Ennis, but the owners wouldn't sell. I guess he got fed up and decided to build his own. Does anyone know anything about this?

TMS?

I really prefer running the 1/4, and I don't mind going a good distance to do it... but Ennis is just never open, the bastards.

Hell if they do build one out near TMS then I'll go all the time. Right now I go to Denton Dragway when I want to run, but it's only an 1/8 track, and it's about 15 miles further north for me.

I'll be keeping my eye out

If they build it there thats about 20 minutes from me, definately a viable solution.

And chances are, if TMS is already there then the sound emissions is not an issue, which would make building this track much easier.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but's a road course, not a drag strip.

Maybe you folks should leave the dark side ...

LOL ...
If it were easy, everyone would do it ... and they are.

I understand completely.

You guys like working, tinkering and spending a ton of money on cars.

In 2 years of wheel to wheel racing my 96 Firebird, I replaced 6 tires (2 were trailer tires), 2 sets of brakes, 1 alternator and 1 PS pump.

No blown rear ends, no spun bearings, no nitrous back fires ... just 50 or so 20 minutes races and hundreds of laps at track all over Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana

True ... about $30 for each 30 minute seesion over the the entire weekend.

I dirt track raced a long time ago and it was certainly fun. But road racing is much cleaner and a LOT more fun.
