Major Lightning PROBLEMS!!!!
Tried to install a diablo tuner on my friends 00 Lightning and once I tried to install the tune the truck would not turn on and now it just sits there and the crank turns but nothing. Wondering what could be wrong with it. Think maybe the ECU f'ed up or something so can we just buy another one and just unplug the old and plug the new??? Need HELP!!!!!!!

this happened to me several times while hyperteching my 01 sierra....actually never could figure out the problem. The hypertech would just freeze up in the middle of the upload. I had to have it towed into the dealership twice and have the pcm reflashed. Then sent the unit off to hypertech to have it reset too as it had my 'stock tune' in its memory instead of the hypertech tune. Hypertech even sent me a new one and it still messed up. I got it to work once and finally gave up on it and got a Wester's PCM. It sounds like the lightnings pcm simply forgot how to start. I'd just take it to the dealership and have them flash the stock tune back on it. That should fix everything. And next time you try the diablo i'd do it in the parking lot of the dealership so if it does it again, you dont have to go far to fix it. Hope this helps.

Tried to turn it back to stock and the POS just tells us that it can not detect/verify the type of vehicle its on. Anybody know how much it usually runs to reflash the EC???

i know this thread is a little old, but ditch the diablo and go with sct but having a Lightning i figured id post up anyway...
ANother thing you have to do with diablo is make sure NOTHING is on while you are flashing the ecu. Keep doors shut so dome light, etc isnt on, turn radio off, etc... This is a common thing that diablo predators do... That being the reason i went with sct. Also your supposed to pull the fuel relays under the hood while loading a tune as well.
Any other questions just ask..
