oil pressure

I have an oil pressure prob maybe...my gauge goes from about 45 psi to 30 psi to 40 psi back down to 35 maybe then back to around 40ish...when im in drive at idle...any ideas what this could be..a sensor or worse my oil pump??

any help would be great

I want to say pressure sender. I doubt the pump itself would fluctuate that much.

My car does that too when it's really damn hot outside. I'm not sure why but it's nothing to worry about. Just put it in neutral and keep ur rpm's up a bit around 1000

I just bought an oil pressure sensor. it was 58 from GM. I don't know bout an autoparts store though
