Question on G35/350z's One of my managers at work has a g35 and he was complaining to me that he can never spin the tires in it he says when ever he goes to floor it and the tires spin it will lock him out of gears and the traction control kicks on, does these cars have something like skip shift elimator (cags) like our cars? or is it just a simple turn off the asr or traction control button on it. thanks for the help. |
not sure i know on my mom's 350z their is a traction control button and when i turn it off it can turn chirp the tires in first gear (auto) but coming around turns you can break it lose and it will slide like my TA does with no TC |
There definitely should be a switch for traction control. |
there is, i think it is left of the steering wheel. |
My friends dad has a traction control button Im sure of it so there should be one. |
My wife's 4 dooor 6spd sedan had trac. control. I use to run it when the T/A was down for contruction. But even if the trac control was off it would not let you power brake, it would start applying the brakes, kinda weird. The button was to the right of the steering wheel, I think. |
they can't spin the tires because those cars are slugs. Tell him to find the V8 button :) |
My old 350Z couldn't spin the tires to save it's life. It'd get the tail out with the ASR off and in a water box no problem but on dry pavement it just wasn't happening. |

No low-end torque owns him. |
I was impressed with my wife's car @ the track. 14.00@101 with a baby seat in the back! BTW 3645lbs with me in the car. Not bad in my book for a N/A V6 @ that weight. :judge: |

Same thing with BMW's next gen M3 - V8 powered, but probably $65K. It's nice to know "affordable" coupe with power are coming from Chevy and Dodge. Can't happen soon enough. Of course, by the time they are out, I'll probably be ready (read can afford!) to buy a new C6. At least I keep telling myself this (and my wife!)!! |
