Default Anyone ever ask you how you got into racing?

I am always asked that, and sometimes draw a blank as to what to say. I have always been into F-Bodies and have owned 3 since I started driving. (1995 Camaro, 1997 LT1, 2000 TA) I never knew about "motors" until about 4 years ago, and then there was no turning back! I guess since I am a chick people are curious as to why I drag race. Now I LOVE getting into the motor and making that sucker go faster!!

My wife loves to drive the camaro and the vette but she's not into the modding much. She's learning and makes some surprizing comments here and there. I got into it after I found a V6 forum while I was looking for a new dash for my camaro 4 years ago. I love it. Now I have the new motor for the camaro sitting in the garage. I plan on getting this in the car this weekend firing it up and getting it broken in quickly. Should be a fun December!

My Father and Grandfather have been Gear heads since the 60's... So I had an early start. What turned it into an addiction, was that Mark Jenkins (Outlaw 10.5 racer and Greg Pizzino's Crew Chief) was my next door neighbor. I have helped work on every single car he has ever raced, from his 7X' bug down to his 10.5 72 camaro

It's genetic with me I guess. My father had a '65 Chevelle SS Convertible, a '56 Chevy Nomad, '58 Impala, '77 Vette, etc. I have had a '66 Ford SWB P/U with a built big block, '71 Mach 1 351C, '55 Bel-Air, '94 25th Anniversary T/A and currently my SS. I would love to get another Bel-Air though, everyone loved that car.

My entire family is into going fast... not just with cars, but with anything that has an engine of any kind... go carts, dune buggies, motorcycles, even a lawn mower one time. haha That was the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. Some of it comes from being a daddy's girl and wanting to do everything that he did... I don't know how the hell I got into Chevy performance though, my dad is/ has always been a Mopar man.

My dad says I'm the biggest dumbass in the world. "Thomas why do you continue to buy these shitty cheapass cars, get something nice." He and I talked about it the other day about what cars I've had and what is wrong with me. 1994 Z28, 1997 Z28, 1990 5.0 2 of them, 2002 Z28, Impy SS drag car "Must have been High when I bought it", 2001 540i BMW FLUKE, 2003 M3 FLUKE, not counting trucks lol.

My dad is the best, "Why the hell did you not nut up and ask for a nice car, with as much money as I have dropped into these piece of **** cars you could have had an F430. Looking back when you turned 16 thats what I should have done, but you would have fucked that up too."

My dad had a 66 Impala SS, 69 Camaro SS, and a 78 Trans Am. As long as I can remember I've liked cars/racing, I had my mind setup that as soon as I turned 16 I would buy a t/a or formula. So I worked my *** off and bought one and can't quit modding it now.

My father had a 57 chevy bel air. He restored it to 90%. There came a time in point in his life where he wanted to get a better home for his family. He let the car go and it absolutely made me sick that he did that. Of course I understand now that I am older So some years passed and I finished college and finally had enuff money to buy a car. I asked my father what would he buy and to my amazement he said a TA. Well I bought 3 of them so far and have modded everyone of them. So my Dad is the main culprate to my motorhead madness. He's not into it as much anymore and he thinks Im crazy. But I have to remind him sometimes were it comes from.

Funny ****, im the same way.
I had a paid in full 02 TA sold it for a dodge ram, got the itch for speed again so i sold that for a POS 05 mustang now im stuck with it what i could have done to the TA if i still had it, all the money iv lost switching cars that TA would be the badest car on the street!

O well you live and you learn right
