I'm Pissed.... I got my motor rebuilt and decided to cam it. So i firstly decided on the LT4 hotcam, then i heard about the CC503 and decided to change it. I called the shop and had it changed. A day later he calls saying the difference in the cams would bring the price from $1,250 to $1,383. He says the 503 cam would be $279 and the hotcam would be $148, summit sells the cc503 for 255. Based on those prices he gave me, I said "no, 1300 is my budget for the motor" he says ok. Calls me today saying teh motor would be here at 2...called at 2 and said it would be here at 5....called at 5 and said traffic would be too bad so he is gonna deliver it at 6:30am tomorro morning. I surf the web and find out the difference in the cam specs is HUGE, the duration of the 503 is .503 .510 whereas the hotcam is .492 .492. So now the only way i am going to make 400 HP is to spray the motor which i DONT want to do. I am happy i get a cam i'm just not happy about the cam i'm getting. The motor is complete and ready for delivery so it's kinda late to replace the cam selection now. I just hope the hotcam isnt as disapointing as everyone makes it sound. P.S: I Have never driven a cam'd car but i do have 4.10 gears so i think it'll be pretty quick. |

changing the cam when the motor is out is easy...tell them to do it...thats a small cam and you wont get anywhere near 400 hp |
just curious why would you order a cam without knowing the specs on it? i could see being pissed about the delivery, but the cam part is nobodys fault but yours |
^ yea id have to agree with nick on this one chris lol jk. dude why didnt you tell me you were going to be pushing 400hp you bastard. well ill be getting 30 more hp so i will still beat you :) Cant wait till it comes in brother!!!! ill go to your house and put it in cho z28 and when you get back from work we can drive it around and than it will be ready for the meet lol jk |
