The MS4 cam has an intake lobe in the .650's correct? If the heads you have fall dead in the water you will lose power. I believe those heads go turbulent at .620 or right there abouts. And there are plenty of tricks with carb motors to make power. Just changing jets is very minute.
What plugs are you running in that car? You will get better results with a cooler plug and really lean on the carb tuneup. 36 degrees of timing is about normal for a carb setup. I gave you a persons number to get ahold of on Carb Tuning. He's the man and id bet youd see your numbers up even more if you had him go through the carb. Your not going to make near what others do since its a carb intake and carb setup. That heads/cam setup was strictly done with EFI in mind. Carb intake runners and CSA's are far different then FI stuff. its a very unmatched combo. You shouldnt be so disappointed.

Almost every car in the world that wins in racing runs a cylinder head that will "run" out of steam yet run a larger camshaft. (Now laying over and losing airflow is completely different than if his cylinder heads just bust and go turbulent) I know Dema Elgin is a person who backs this theory 100 percent. Same with two guys I know who work at Greg Anderson's Shop. (We know THEY are making power LOL)
I will agree on the tuning advice though. So hard to tell on some person's dyno, running slicks, a large converter and wasteful trans. The Cam could definitely be changed (That is a fact). I will say though the numbers you have already ran in the car is quite impressive. Take that buggy out to a 1/4 mile track and see what she lays down!
Good luck getting it all straightened out.

Take a look at the A/F ratio, looks pretty jumpy to me, get someone else to tune it. HPP tunes those, all they do is mustangs, not sure if they are great at it or not, i dont have a stang.

I see this stuff all of the time on my dyno. A race car with lots of good parts that doesnt make good numbers because of poor or bad converters! When we installed Beards first 408 he ran a Vigalante 3600 stall. Unlocked it dynoed 385 RWHP and locked it dynoed 475 RWHP!! I then suggested a Pro Torque converter. Yes it is alot more expensive but its much more efficient. Beards car then dynoed 465 RWHP unlocked and 475 RWHP locked. Thats 80 RWHP for unders 1200 dollars. Talk about bang for the buck.
Yes we are Pro Torque dealers...

Peak powers didnt matter much but it falls dead on its face for about 500-700 rpms before and after 4800-say 5600 and picked back up til 6800 or so. Its a backing up port or a bad valve job. Both of which will cause the same problem in his car.

It appears to still be picking up power past the point he let off.... dont go to USA again. they cant operated a dyno much less work on cars.... spin that bad boy up to 7k!!

You need to take the car to someone that can tune a carb motor the correct way...The jetting is not the only part on a carb that adds fuel or controls the amount of fuel delivered.
That af reading should be flat.

I worked at a Speed shop for awhile and sold alot of carbs to "carb experts".Most of them were returned cause they couldnt get it right.I must have tuned 100 of them in those 2 years.

your trap speed will tell the story of HP. I mean you are going 100mph in the 1/8 mile. I have only gone 98mph in the 1/8, and make 494rwhp. You may make less than that because of your weight, but that would be in the ball park.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm just looking past the dyno and will be building a set of custom 1 7/8's headers, installing a 3" x-pipe, carb spacer (plastic, noticed the carb was burning hot when I did a jet change on the dyno), and installing my transbrake.
I took it to the track last night and here is the results..
Total of 2 passes
1st pass, 26 deg of total timing, 18psi in tires, drove to the track, no cool down, stalled to about 1700rpm, shifted about 6700rpm :
r/t : .356
60' : 1.764
330' : 4.712
mph : 78.06
1/8 : 7.118
mph : 100.13
2nd pass, 34 deg of total timing, 18psi in tires, hot lapped it, stalled to about 3000rpm, hit the revlimiter from 1st - 2nd, shifting at 6900rpm
r/t : .083
60' : 1.754
330' : 4.667
mph : 78.59
1/8 : 7.063
mph : 100.48
All in all, once I get my new suspension for the rear and transbrake, I think ti will run a 6.7 - 6.8.. Well see..
