Default Porting a FAST

Is it really worth the extra $$$$ to port the FAST intake or should I save my money. I have some 1.5 TEA 5.3 heads that are milled to 58cc. I will be running N/A with no Power Adder at all.

What do you thinK?

Should I port THE FAST or just bolt it up?

are your heads flowing more than what the fast unported can handle. I seriously doubt it unless they flow over 330cfm......... I am sure you will gain something but the HP/$ may not make sense.

Yes port it. with porting the intake correctly and the TB as well (TB alone was worth 15 hp on FAST's testing of the one I sent them) you can see gains of 25-35 hp.

Mike.... what cfm does the stock fast **** a brick at?

I know the LS6 starts lacking around 270-280, I figured the unported fast would be good for around 300-315 cfm or so right?

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. But I wanted to ask first. My heads might flow just over 300 cfm on the intake if I am lucky.

I was wondering this as well. My heads flow 340CFM @ .600, would I see gains with a ported fast?

I have to get those bad boys thrown on, but my car is in the body shop right now, and I'm not sure how long it will be in there. Yeah I can't wait to see what those bad boys do for me. What do you think about porting the fast yeah or nay? Also do I have to take the heads off of the car etc. cause if that is the case I will not do it.

I would have it port matched to the heads. But they can do that with them on the car.

You do not need to port match to the heads. Taking the port out to the index line is good enough, if your head is still larger it does not matter, because you will break through the casting. You also will gain HP even from a set of heads that flow 280, please keep the talking out of your *** stuff to yourself.

without a doubt..... you better do it!!!

Like Brandon said.... you will gain even with heads that flow 280..... mainly due to the fact that the extra intake flow will help at lower valve lift points. I just dont see how it is as benificial on a setup that has 280-300 cfm peak vs one that does more? Since the intake is not a restriction until XXX cfm.

again we are talking HP:$ here...... how much are you talking about spending to have it ported?

I still standby this statement, unless someone has proven gains for heads that flow 300cfm or less at .600????
