I would get a lawyer and fight for what the "Good" son/daughter feels they deserve.

My dad is going to be going through this same issue here shortly. My grandma is just barely hanging on at this point. My grandma has property estimated at around 3 million to leave to her kids. However, my aunt now in her 40's has taken car of my grand parents her whole life. She has lived with my Grandma and Grandpa her entire life as well. She has had no real life other than being a 24/7 care giver for them and working a full time job. I feel as well as my dad that she should basically get the entire estate. But there are other aunts and uncles that just can't wait to get their hands on that money b/c their lives are so f*cked up. I believe over half of my aunts and unlces have filed bankruptcy at 1 point in their life b/c they were living outside their means. Some people shouldn't have to wait until judgement day to get what they rightfully deserve.

Edit: Mitchntx has good advice. Unfortunately, you really need to be proactive.

I was just making a number,
I don't know what he makes anymore,
I just know its alot, his business is successful enough for him to be interviewed by and get covered by CNBC, WSJ, etc. on a regular basis.
I hope I can do the same for myself.
