Default This is a serious CNC - 5 axis MUST SEE VID

Wow! check out what this thing does with a solid chunk of aluminum! Billet CNC V8 block! You gotta see what it does at 6:39 into the video I would say NTS Corp. is on top of the CNC game!

The video is a demo of the Japanese at Matsuura using the GibbsCAM advanced ProAXYZ 4as program. One of my customers in Austin sent me this video. He has been testing with this same software and is actually going to be designing some one-off parts for me.

Nick posted about something like this a couple weeks ago, and wanting to make custom wheels. That is probably what the Nick reference is.

Wow, we used a 4-axis in class at school and I thought that was amazing. That was rediculous, I can't imagine how long the NC coding is for it.

Really? I didnt think that making a one piece wheel and an actual V8 engine block were alike. Well, anyways..I just searched THIS forum for "CNC" and did not find anything with this video, or a billet V8 block or a 5 axis Matsuura. So you and Brandon can quit busting my *****.

That is one bad *** programmer! I have seen a similar engine block made on a full fourth axis machine like mine. Rule of thumb on CNC machines is... "The machine is only as good as the programmer and the tooling that you use!"

1 Bad Z, I was talking about making a 15" Prime Hammer wheel but it was going to be 3 piece not one piece.

Interesting, I wonder what the completion time start to finish was and how may bits they went thru. I bet that would be one expensive block.

It's aluminum so I doubt that they would have to replace many inserts. I would say around 5-6 hours of cycle time and I bet they wouldn't charge by the hour! LOL!

I wonder how much the bits for that thing costs.
