Default WTB: Daily Driver w/ Great Gas Mileage

Well we bought a house that's about 30miles from my office (vs the apt that was 5miles away) so I'd like to get a Honda or something similar that gets good mileage and is reliable.

I'm open to motorcycles, but that's a very unique situation b/c 1) I've never riden a bike on the street, and 2) I wear suits to work and would have to figure out the logistics for that to work.

So idealy, I'd like to find a late 80s to mid 90s honda civic with 100k miles or so that's still running strong. My price range is open to negotiation, but ideally I'd like to stay under $3,000.

Let me know what you guys have...

look into the 500 ninja...you could easily get an 05 for $3k. I wouldn't reccomend a 600cc crotchrocket for a first bike, though.

I had a Ninja 250...awesome bike with 70mpg. wouldn't reccomend it for highway travel, although the 500 would be good for that.
