a 5-gallon can of leaded gasoline, which went for 24 cents a gallon in those days

bet they didnt plan on that happening! a very cool idea gone wrong . i would be heartbroken had i been around when it was first buried.

An old guy I work with was talking about that a few weeks ago. I figured there wouldn't be much left of it when they dug it up. Moisture is a bitch.

A Plymouth Belvedere? There were several, more popular cars in 1957 than a Plymouth Belvedere. However, I guess nothing captures the 50's like huge chrome and big fins ...

I can remember filling up my Hodaka Wombat at $0.33 a gallon ...
