What sucks is that I have liked vick growing up and he is an amazing athlete all in all. He dissapointed me and did something that he may never be able to show his face in a crowd ever again without getting booed let alone maybe even play.. But I will say this... People do make mistakes.. But he had to do it to dogs... thats what pisses me off.. animals are just like people and are straight to the heart for some if you ask me.. I will always be a vick fan ON THE FIELD no matter what happends.. but OFF the field.. my dream of meeting vick ever since I was younger is no more for that matter...

Hes not the only athlete that has been convicted of a crime..

I am not here to defend him either..

Hope he serves his sentence like a man.. and hopefully learned his lesson..

Vick should have lifetime ban. People make mistakes, sure, and maybe the judge will be lenient. But the NFL should hold their athletes to higher standards. Kids look up to and idolize these guys. All professional atheletes know that, vick had his chance and blew it. Game over

Amen to this.

Playing a sport like football at the highest level requires a lot of agrression and a hardnosed attitude. There are no pussies playing the game at the level he plays at. That's a fact and nobody can dispute it. Michael Vick is an amazing athlete and nobody can dispute that. He plays hard and wants to win very badly.

That being said, anybody who would torture dogs, breed them to fight, kill them for not performing well, and even going so far as to start his own breeding/kennel business simply to watch animals mame each other has some very deep emotional and psychological problems that go WAY beyond the boundaries of being an aggressive, hardnosed professional football player.

Once he completes his time in jail I think he should be required to undergo a year in some kind of therapy. Anybody who could do this to an animal is just sick in the head. If he's willing to treat dogs this way imagine how he would treat a wife or girlfriend, or his own children. It's just sick.

I'm not saying we don't all have our problems and demons, but the NFL has to put its foot down here. If Vick gets away with this it will set a terrible example for the football players of tomorrow. And not to mention, if Vick gets away with this, who knows what they'll let the next guy get away with.

Ban that ************ for life.

He took a plea bargain. Most of the legal experts are saying anywhere from 12-18 months, ultimately it's up to the judge.

I doubt he gets a lifetime ban, and there will be a team that takes a chance on him in a few years no doubt.
