m5's are fast :(
 

was driving home from work yesterday on 121 south and there is a new white M5 with exhaust wheels/tires and dark tint going along abou 75 mph. I pass him and get infront of him--not trying to race, just trying to get home quick. Next thing I know he is right on my ass so I downshift to 4th and 'try' to take off and he doesn't move. We now get on 35 south and get some open highway and are playing around. At one point he got stuck and I kept going. He catches up to me pretty quick (surprise) and is right on my ass again in the fast lane. I'm doing 125 in 5th and as soon as he gets a clear lane to my right he passes me like i'm not even moving. I realize he has about 150hp stock over me but it also (i would assume) weighs a lot more. I knew they were fast but I had no idea they were that fast. Very nice car--wish i had 90k for a 500hp sedan!

I know the guy your talking about and he is not stock. I ran him and was spraying a 150 shot= 559RWHP and we were dead even. I could not get over how good that thing sounds! It is a badass car!

all you are is a stock SS with a LID? Yeah nice move....the only way to negate 150 hp advantage is for that car to way like over 5500lbs which it doesnt. Its very fast, low 12's stock. Try it on bottle with a 150 shot next time :D

i was not expecting to be faster or quicker than him by any means...i was just surprised how easily he passed me at 125. By the way, it sounded amazing

If ur pretty much stock....125 is getting rly close to the area where pretty much you are not effective in racing. Meaning you aint got no pull. My A4 Z28 gets RLY slow after 135. Guess thats just the fact that I am stock. Those M5's are effective way past 125 just like the Z06 is like a 70-170 car ;)

125 in an M5 is his sweet spot.
I am a BMW mechanic. From a dead stop you would put at least a car length to 1.5 on him until he got rolling. As long as he didn't do launch mode, which is kinda unrealistic in a quick stop and drag situation. Once his get it wound up though those cars are bad.

That's what the spray is for my man!! I did the reverse to a 911 Turbo last week. I know he couldn't believe I was glued to his ass in a 99 C5! :cool:

Try racing even the previous 400hp M5, that thing is so fast!
