6 Speed Automatic ?????
with all the larger trucks and diesel trucks coming with 6 speed automatics as an option cuz of all the laws takin place in the near future about gas mileage do yall think we will see 6 speed automatics in the new camaro??? or vette sometime soon??? i hope so that would be bad *** and maybe have a manual mode with paddle shifts on the steering wheel???

I think I have seen an automatic 6 spd. somewhere for an LS1/LT1. Don't really remember.. Supposed to be pretty good for gas mileage and also down at the tracks.

The transmission you guys are thinking of is a 6L80E. It is a 6 speed automatic. The 'Vette does utilize paddle controls.

There is an inherant problem with converting the 6l80E to other than intended applications. It has an integral transmission controller. It needs inputs from the PCM, point is there arent any companies working on this right now that I know of.
It is it's own animal. It'll be a while down the road before the aftermarket get's a grip on it.
But, did you see the numbers that thing can take! It's a hoss!

3.06 which doesn't matter when they throw in so much torque management to begin with. I'll take a better converter and a 1.8 ratio any day of the week
