Default Houston Apartments

So me and a friend are considering U of H next year and we're def not going to stay in the dorms there.

What part of houston is the university in, and what are some nearby apartment complexes that are nice and not ghetto?

Anyone know a couple of local houston websites for apartments?

2 bed and 1.5 bath (at least)

Nothing near the campus....You need to be on the other side of 288!

How much can you afford, and how far would you be willing to drive?

UH (main campus) is just south of Downtown, inside of the 610 loop. Pretty much surrounded by ghetto, you will want to live a few miles away.

There are a few on campus but, they are very expensive. There is Cullen Oaks, Cambridge Oaks, and Bayou Oaks. Cullen Oaks are on the small side but they are fully furnished. They are also more like dorms than apartments. Cambridge Oaks are alot bigger and unfurnished, but are alot more expensive and I don’t really know that much about Bayou Oaks. My girlfriend has a one bedroom at Cambridge Oaks and she pays $890 a month, plus elec, just so you can understand how much I am talking about here. Hope this helps.

No more than $500 a month and no longer than 20 minutes away (probably not possible in houston) lol

$500 month.... hopefully that is each and you have a roomate. For $1000/month you can find some decent ones, but not $500.

look at the apartments on el mundo street, they are just to the north of 610 and just to the west of 288 (where they intersect). they have a few nice ones... I lived in "san marin" for 2 years while going to UH and my whorish ex gf lives in the ones next to them still I believe, I forgot the name though.
